The 20 and may 21, 2019 took place the workshop on the development of fuel of high resistance to crashes, “Accident Tolerant Fuel”  (ATF). The sessions were conducted at the University of Seville, and were promoted by ENUSA, and by the Platform CEIDEN.

The event counted with the participation of 26 entities in the nuclear sector.

NUCLEONOVA attended with the aim of providing its services and capabilities to this new technological challenge.

The workshop was aimed at presenting the main lines of research. In addition to identifying the capabilities available in the sector and to explore potential sources of funding.

With the fuel ATF, the aim is to substantially increase the safety margins compared to the events that compromise the cooling of the nuclear reactor. At the time that it reaches a higher reliability during its normal operation.

In conclusion, we showed the potential of the research and development of new fuels, ATF.
